A doctor of Thrissur Medical College who was caught by the vigilance while accepting bribe has been suspended. Sherin Isaac, an ortho department doctor, was caught by vigilance last day. The money was bought for the surgery of the woman who was injured in the accident.
The woman who was injured in the accident was brought to the emergency department of the medical college last week. They needed surgery because there was a fracture in the arm bone. But the doctor asked the woman to bring many reports and so on, the surgery days were extended. Finally, it reached the point that the surgery would not be performed without payment.
The woman reported this to Thomas, a public servant. He also reported the matter to Thrissur Vigilance DYSP. Then the young woman reached the doctor’s private clinic with notes smeared with phenolphthalein and handed over Rs.3000. The vigilance officials immediately arrived and found the bribe money from the doctor. With this, Sherin Isaac was arrested.
Vigilance search was also conducted at Sherry Isaac’s house. Vigilance also seized lakhs of rupees found hidden in the house. The money was found tied in a sack.
The amount is being counted. The inspection was conducted at a house in Harithanagar near Mulangunanthukkav Kila. It is also being checked whether the amount is as per the documents
