Ivan Lalinde is one of the most recognized presenters in Colombia, not only because of his current participation in Day to daybut also for having been the main driver of The price is correcta Caracol Television program that aired between 2011 and 2014.
However, far from his outstanding work on radio and television, the 44-year-old man from Antioquia is in the news thanks to a moving story in which recalled the death of his three brothers and his father.
During an interview he gave to the entertainment program Networkgave several details about his family life and assured that, even though he is part of a family of 10 brothers, he did not get to know them all.
The first that Iván Lalinde remembered was ‘Gustavito’, a boy who died at the age of 10 due to health problems. The same fate befell his little sister, who was born with her heart on the right side of her chest and died minutes after giving birth.
It is worth mentioning that the also announcer of Candela Estéreo did not know either of the two. She even revealed that her mother never got to see the newborn, because only her father and her other older sister did.
The one he did meet and remember with a lot of pain was Humberto, whom he accompanied during his last hours of life and whose death he lived in his own flesh, after he hid from the whole family that he suffered from terminal cancer.
“I began to read him a book by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, which is called ‘Death is a dawn’. So I started reading it aloud to him at the side of the bed. That book is divine because it tells you what death is, who is waiting for you when you cross this life and what is there, to leave that fear because we are all afraid of the unknown, “he assured in his talk with said medium, between tears and with a broken voice.
Although Humberto’s death is one of the saddest pages in his life story, Lalinde let it be known that her mother was the most affected, because after that “she was disconnected from the planet” and her senile dementia worsenedto the point that he currently suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s.
Regarding the death of his father, the paisa presenter mentioned that he managed to be by his side before he became a victim of covid-19, a virus that has caused the death of another 139,000 Colombians.
This is not the first time that nostalgia surrounds Iván when remembering the departure of his loved ones, because A couple of weeks ago he spoke on The Suso’s show about the suicide of model and presenter Lina Marulandaone of her best friends.
“What do you miss the most about Lina?” Suso asked, to which he replied: “All of her, she was my partner and my company on nights of talking, having a few drinks and smoking 20 thousand packs of cigarettes, of Call us at night and talk at all hours, but also send us text messages because at that time there was no WhatsApp. I miss it a lot, a lot!”.
Later, She admitted that every day she talks to the memory of her friend and tries to find comfort in the good times they had together. She even says that from the first day and until now the image of Lina through the corridors of Caracol Televisión has her very present.
