On Tuesday followingnoon, thunderstorms will gather throughout Switzerland. These are particularly strong in the Jura, Bern and Lucerne. The storms are moving east across Switzerland and are expected to continue into the night.
The thunderstorms are accompanied locally by hail and a lot of rain in a short time. In Langnau eleven millimeters of rain fell within ten minutes. As videos from a news scout show, a stream in Fankhaus in Emmental carries a lot of water.
Strong weather warnings apply until Wednesday at 2 a.m. for the Entlebuch, the upper Emmental, the Neuchâtel Jura, Neuenburg East and the Vallée de Joux-Ste-Croix, as the weather warnings from Meteonews indicate. Thunderstorms are also expected in the rest of Switzerland.
