Thursday is a day of anger from five in the morning until five in the evening – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

The federations and unions of the road transport sector in Lebanon held a press conference, at eleven o’clock this afternoon, Wednesday, in the presence of the President of the General Labor Union, Bechara Al-Asmar, the President of the Federations Bassam Tlais, and the heads of the federations and unions of the land transport sector in all Lebanese regions.

The conference began with a speech by the President of the General Labor Union, in which he indicated that “many agreements have been made with officials, including lump-sum sums for the public sector and transport allowances, and agreement with unions and unions of the land transport sector, nothing has been implemented despite the approval of the Prime Minister in the presence of the concerned ministers.”

Al-Asmar considered that “this agreement spares a large part of the Lebanese, especially students, military personnel, employees and retirees, from the cost of transportation. Is humiliation required, as happens in front of banks, in light of circulars looting the Lebanese and black rooms that raise the dollar? Is it required to lift subsidies on fuel, consumer goods, medicine, and soon wheat? Is the death of the Lebanese people required? The General Labor Union says no. And the unions of the road transport sector, which are part of the General Labor Union, will act tomorrow with the support of the union, and it will be a day of anger and warning. Other days and greater participation will follow if officials do not take the initiative to implement the agreements, especially since some of them can be implemented by applying existing laws.

Al-Asmar addressed all the Lebanese, calling for “the massive participation in all Lebanese regions in gatherings to raise the voice against the official disregard for people’s lives.”

For his part, Tlais thanked “all the unions and unions that supported the Day of Rage’s action, especially the leadership of the General Labor Union, the Farmers’ Gathering, the General Trucks Syndicate in the Port of Beirut, the unions of vans in schools, the teachers’ union in private schools, and others.”

He said: “Tomorrow, Thursday, is a day of anger, and what is being told through the means of communication will not change the path of the land transport sector unions and unions,” stressing that “the failure to implement the agreement until today is the problem with the government that agreed to the agreement and did not implement it.”

Tlais pointed out that “the summary of the general assemblies that were held in all Lebanese regions demanded a comprehensive and complete action, especially since the public driver is a Lebanese citizen and has duties and rights.” He said: “The previous moves were symbolic and timid, and today our move came as a result of a strict decision by Al-Qaeda, and it is really a day of anger.”

He announced that “tomorrow, Thursday, January 13, 2022, the beginning of the anger of the land transport sector,” calling on all affected Lebanese to participate from five in the morning until five in the evening on all Lebanese territories, according to the following program:
