Ticket sales for the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany, which will be held from June 14th to July 14th, begin today at 2 p.m. There are a total of 2.7 million cards. The game will be played in ten stadiums – including in Hamburg.

The most important questions and answers about ticket sales.

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets are only available online on the UEFA website. Anyone interested must first register there. In the first sales phase until October 26th, 1.2 million tickets will be offered. If, as expected, overbooking occurs, the draw will decide. After the group draw on December 2nd, another million tickets will be sold to fans of the qualified teams via the national associations. The tickets will only be available in digital form.

How much do tickets for the European Football Championship cost?

It won’t be cheap. Fans have to be prepared for an enormous price range and sometimes have to dig deep into their pockets. The cheapest tickets in the regular segments cost 30 euros, the most expensive 1,000 euros.

Are there special tickets?

There are 42,000 seats available for wheelchair users for 30 euros, and their companions can enter the stadium free of charge. UEFA donates 10,000 tickets to so-called “disadvantaged” children. Almost 500,000 tickets will go to sponsors (especially for competitions), VIPs and officials, among others.

Is there standing room at the European Football Championship?

Despite the ongoing test phase in the European Cup, there will be no standing room at the European Championships. UEFA cites the authorities’ security concerns as reasons. In addition, the stands in the stadiums would have to be rebuilt on a large scale in order to provide each team with the same number of standing places. The DFB regrets the lack of standing room.

What does the buyer need to know?

Four cards can be ordered per person; an exchange event is planned. Interested parties from 170 countries have already registered. In order to take the desired sustainability into account, UEFA has reached an agreement with Deutsche Bahn.

Long-distance travel in 2nd ICE class costs just under 30 euros per trip for ticket holders. The tickets themselves are also valid as tickets for local public transport around the respective games.

Who plays when and where?

This will largely only be determined after the group draw on December 2nd, which will take place in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.

So far only Germany has been placed as the head of Group A. The DFB team will play the opening game on June 14th in Munich, followed by the preliminary round games on June 19th in Stuttgart and June 23rd in Frankfurt.

Games also take place in Berlin, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Leipzig and Hamburg. The games will kick off at 3, 6 and 9 p.m.

How many games are taking place in Hamburg?

Five European Championship games will be played in the Volksparkstadion. Four in the preliminary round and one quarter-final.
