Tiger Woods took 18th place in the Bahamas. His return seems successful on a physical level following an eight-month break due to injury.

With a card of 288, the 47-year-old Californian, however, needed 20 strokes more than winner Scottie Scheffler (268) during his own tournament at the Albany Golf Club. 20 top PGA Tour golfers were at the start of Woods’ Caribbean Invitational.

But what is more important to Woods than the result is knowing that his body and his operated right foot held up well during these four days of competition. This tournament was the first competition for Woods following his retirement due to injury at the Augusta Masters in April and subsequent foot surgery.

“I’m still a little rusty,” Woods said. “But it was a lot of fun competing once morest the guys here.” Woods’ plan is to play one tournament per month next year. This will give him enough time to regenerate between tournaments, he explained.
