A TikTok challenge kills a 13-year-old in the United States. He dies after six days in a coma. His family wants to wake up.

13-year-old Jacob took the pills with his friends, his father Justin Stevens says. The children, who live in the state of Ohio, filmed Jacob taking the pills. His body was immediately swollen, and he was immediately taken to the hospital. But the doctors could not save him.
“It was just too much for his body,” Jacob’s father Justin said. His son was put directly on ventilators but showed no response. “There were no more brainwaves, nothing. We could only watch him and knew that he would never wake up again.” After six days in a coma, Jacob died.

“No matter what bad day I had, when nothing could make me smile – Jacob could always make me laugh,” says the father of his son, who friends also remember as a bright, always friendly boy. “No matter what the cost, I will do everything so that other children do not go through the same thing,” the boy’s grandmother said in a TV interview.
