From an early age, Tina Galindo discovered her passion for the arts, but she was not sure where she should direct her steps, so she began with the most logical thing, studying acting.

“I thought I wanted to be an actress, I studied theater with Dimirtio Sarras, then I realized that it wasn’t because I felt sorry for it, then I started to like production and I was lucky to find people who helped me a lot,” commented Tina. Galindo in interview with El Universal.

Among those people who gave him their support was the director Nancy Cárdenas, who in 1972 gave him the opportunity with the play “The effects of gamma rays” about marigolds, which starred Carmen Montejo and Luis Huertas, there he worked as an assistant of production. It was Nancy Cárdenas herself who encouraged her to produce alongside Jorge Estévez, with whom she worked for a few years, until one of her greatest challenges arrived, directing the Teatro de la Ciudad, in 1976.

“I was very young, I said ‘How? They just inaugurated it’. We brought many artists from outside, everyone wanted to be at the City Theater, it was a bit like what is today the National Auditorium, we managed to have 62 events a month,” Galindo recalled.

The producer added that many doubted her ability to be in charge of this venue due to her age, but she let her work speak for her and that is how her period in this place closed with a surplus of 800 thousand dollars.

In 1975 he tried to venture into film production with Luis García León with the film “Zona Roja”, which was directed by Emilio “El Indio” Fernández, but the experience was not to his liking due to the dynamics he had with his cast. and the filming times themselves.

When she finished her management of the Teatro de la Ciudad in 1982, she had her first solo experience as a producer thanks to Carmen Montejo, who encouraged her to produce a work with the Teatro de las Américas Unidas company, which Carmen founded with Luis G. Basurto. .

After this, Tina took a break from the theater to try herself as a manager. Since 1982, she has been a representative of Daniel Romo, with whom, in addition to touring Latin America, she performed shows that were presented in places as important as the Teatro Blanquita.

It was in 1999 when he reached what would be one of his greatest achievements, directing and operating the Teatro de la Ciudad, where together with his partner Claudio Carrera he has managed to bring great plays and outstanding figures from the artistic world such as John Malkovich to Mexico. who directed the play “The Good Canary” on his stage.
