Tiny11: lean version of Windows 11 runs on RTX 3050 GPU with 4 GB of VRAM

Modified version of Windows 11 thought to give life to old computers or those with weaker hardware, Tiny11 now runs from the VRAM memory of a GPU. The test was done and shown by an enthusiast on YouTube, on the channel NTDEV.

In the recording, it is possible to observe a demonstration of the “light” mod of the Microsoft operating system running in a virtual machine equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce 3050 GPU with 4 GB of VRAM memory. Watch in the player below:

During the experiment, the software was used GPURamDrive, located on GitHub, to generate a unit of RAM in GPU memory, which is just over 3.5 GB. Despite the limited space, it was possible to run Tiny11.

Even with the successful execution, the amount of memory also does not allow many possibilities for more complex tasks. In other words, the system would only serve for more basic actions, such as a drawing in Paint or a text in Notepad, for example.

In its “standard” version, Tiny11 has as main requirements 8 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM memory – for comparison purposes, the original Windows 11 occupies 20 GB of disk space. It can be found in Arm edition, which can be used on Mac with M1 or M2 chips and on Raspberry Pi 4.

So, what was your assessment of the “light” version of Windows 11 running on an RTX 3050? Tell us in the space provided for comments.
