The Kremlin’s assurance that it will not attack any NATO country is worth nothing.
Innsbruck (OTS) – US moderator Carlson enabled the Kremlin ruler to address the American right directly.
Judging by the international excitement, the propaganda show by Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin was a highlight of the past week. For a good two hours, the right-wing US presenter and conspiracy theorist provided the key words for the Kremlin boss. He was allowed to ramble unfiltered about his view of history and the world and repeat his lies about the war in Ukraine.
In terms of the knowledge gained, what was disseminated under the term interview was almost a total failure. How Putin justifies his imperialist policies and his contempt for humanity is well known. His assurance that he would not attack any NATO country? – Worth nothing after the attack on Ukraine, which also had security guarantees from Moscow. His hint of a negotiated solution? – A deliberate deception. Putin and his clique have always understood peace as Ukraine’s self-sacrifice. So far there has been no willingness in Moscow to back away from war aims.
Given the possible consequences, the bizarre appearance of Carlson and Putin was a contribution to Russian warfare. His propaganda appeals to the war-weary Russians as well as to the American right. Under the guidance of Putin’s friend Donald Trump, this has been blocking any further aid to Ukraine for a long time, which is said to have had a concrete impact on the situation at the front.
Almost two years after Putin’s attack, a war of attrition is raging in Ukraine. This is not least about the mental and political resources in Russia, Ukraine and the West. Putin assumes that he has the longer stamina. At least that’s what you can glean from his propaganda show with Carlson.
