A EGP 1.53 Million Gift Fuels Egypt’s Marine Robotics Ambitions
Alexandria University’s Council approved a EGP 1.53 million donation from Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) to support the Aquaphoton team, which is competing in a regional unmanned submarine and marine robotics competition, according to a university statement. The funding aims to enhance the team’s technical and operational capabilities, enabling Egypt’s participation in the event, which is described as one of the region’s leading platforms for engineering and marine technology innovation.
TMG’s Educational Investments Span Technical Programs and Youth Development
The donation aligns with TMG’s broader strategy to invest in education, scientific research, and youth development, the group stated. The group has previously partnered with institutions such as Metwally El-Shaarawy School for Applied Technology and the Ministry of Education to establish specialized technical programs, including one focused on landscaping.
Internship Programs and Urban Planning Exposures Reflect CSR Integration
TMG’s support for Alexandria University’s team follows its history of internship programs, which provide university students with hands-on experience in the group’s projects. The company also organized field visits for students from faculties of fine arts and applied arts to Al Rehab City, exposing them to modern urban planning and community development practices. These initiatives are part of TMG’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) framework, which it describes as integrated into its business model for over five decades.
Healthcare, Education, and Community Projects Define TMG’s CSR Legacy
The group’s CSR efforts extend to healthcare, education, and community development. TMG has funded projects such as the Tahya Misr Fund, Dar El Hanan schools for children with special needs, and Talaat Moustafa Charity Hospital in Alexandria. During the COVID-19 pandemic, TMG collaborated with the Ministry of Health and received the Sustainability and CSR Award at Egypt’s Best Summit. The company also supports medical institutions like Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
Cultural Sponsorships and Sports Events Highlight TMG’s Community Engagement
In the cultural sector, TMG’s Madinaty community has hosted international sculpture symposiums and book fairs. The group also sponsors Egyptian athletes and organizes sporting events, including the Madinaty Half Marathon. TMG has honoured national martyrs by naming streets and mosques after them within its developments.
