“To gerber”, “pigs”: in France, a Christmas commercial campaign that is a little too sexy and disturbing

Oops… Here is an campaign which would have been launched by the city of Béthune, in the Pas-de-Calais of (very) bad taste!

To promote Christmas entertainment and to support merchants, posters listing the drinks on offer in the city center for the end-of-year celebrations have been put up. On these, a message: “Come warm up”, and an illustration with a very sexy, scantily clad Mrs. Claus wearing suspenders and a biased gaze.

A text-images association that has annoyed more than one, since considered sexist and inappropriate, since Christmas is in no way a carnal event… “High class”quips a surfer on Twitter, while others are offended: “To puke! More pigs !”, “fuck the ass of pigs and pornocrats!”. No reaction was, a priori, broadcast.
