Toca Boca World and adidas are partnering to launch a worldwide digital experience on August 21, 2026. The collaboration introduces athletic sportswear, equipment, and a free outdoor sports location into the app, aiming to help tween girls build confidence and stay active during adolescence.
Digital Active Play and the August 21 Launch
A major virtual playground is welcoming the Three Stripes. Spin Master’s digital games studio Toca Boca and global sporting goods leader adidas have teamed up to integrate digital sportswear, sports-inspired environments, and equipment into Toca Boca World. The collaboration officially launches worldwide on August 21, 2026.
The initiative arrives at a crucial developmental crossroads for young athletes. According to research from the Women’s Sports Foundation cited across multiple reports, girls begin dropping out of sports at higher rates than boys by age 14, as puberty impacts confidence and comfort in physical environments. By embedding sports culture into a digital platform that draws close to 60 million monthly active users, the partnership aims to use storytelling and creativity to keep users connected to physical movement beyond the screen.
Free Outdoor Spaces and Digital Adidas Collections
Players exploring the updated app will find a mix of free locations and premium items. The partnership features a free outdoor Home Designer location designed to encourage active play, featuring dedicated areas for skating, basketball, football, volleyball, and workout routines. These environments allow users to weave sports into their everyday in-game storytelling.

Alongside the free sports hub, players can purchase Style Packs inspired by iconic adidas Originals lines. These digital garments let users mix and match items from the Firebird, Superstar, and Adicolor collections across different characters. The digital pieces feature the brand’s signature three stripes, offering tweens a customizable outlet for personal style.
Beyond apparel, the experience includes limited-edition in-game gifts such as a yoga mat and a sports bag. Notably, the digital gear collection also incorporates adidas period-proof sportswear styles, translating real-world athletic needs into the gameplay experience to support comfort and confidence during physical activity.
Bridging the Gap Between Screen Time and Real-World Sport
Leadership from both companies emphasized the cultural alignment behind the project. Toca Boca World provides an open-ended digital canvas for young users.

“Toca Boca World is a space where kids can explore identity without rules or expectations. Alongside adidas, we’re extending that into sport—supporting self-expression and confidence so girls feel empowered to keep playing on their own terms. This collaboration is about helping girls feel comfortable, confident, and inspired to stay active as they grow.”
Mathilda Engman, Co-General Manager at Toca Boca
The partnership represents a broader movement by consumer brands toward high-engagement gaming ecosystems. Spin Master reported that Toca Boca games have surpassed 1 billion downloads worldwide. Throughout the year, the studio has expanded its collaborative model by introducing music from artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, SIENNA SPIRO, and TWICE into the app.
“At adidas, we believe sport has the power to build confidence, community and self-expression. By partnering with Toca Boca, we’re connecting with tween girls in a space they love and using creativity and storytelling to help inspire continued participation in sport beyond the screen.”
