A 54-year-old citizen, who works as pastor of the Tocoísta Church, in the province of Uíge, was arrested yesterday due to accusations of having sexually abused a minor under 12 years of age.
The arrest, which was made by the Criminal Investigation Service in Uíge after receiving a complaint, took place on Wednesday, 13th, in the municipality of Mucaba, in the village identified as Imbondeiro.
According to SICUíge spokesperson, Zacarias Fernando, the 54-year-old pastor, belonging to the Tocoísta Church, is accused of the crime of sexual abuse against a minor under 12 years of age.
The girl, after participating in morning prayer with other brothers from the church, ended up being alone in the place, with the “predator” taking advantage of the situation.
“With the absence of the other minors, the pastor forced the victim to enter the pastoral office, stripped her of her clothes and subsequently carried out illicit intercourse.
This pastor was surprised by some members of the church, who promptly called the SIC, and we proceeded with the arrest”, he says.
However, the spokesperson also added that, in the preliminary interview held with the minor, she stated that the abuse had been happening for some time, with the pastor having used coercion as a way of silencing the girl.
