From today to Sunday, there will be traffic battles, during which the policemen will measure the speed and calm the traffic in different parts of Estonia.

This year, the page www.liiklustalgud.ee marked 2,400 places where speeders have been seen. Half of the observations were from different places in Harju County, followed by Tartum County with 531 reports and Pärnum County and Ida-Virum County with 114 reports. In Lääne County, nearly a quarter of a hundred places were entered to measure speed, such as the Uuemõisa entrance to Haapsalu, Posti and Vaba streets, as well as the road leading to Österby harbor and the Haapsalu-Laiküla road.

Similar to last year, Pärnu mnt, AH Tammsaare tee and Rannamõisa tee were marked as the most problematic places in the city of Tallinn. In Tartu, however, the most speeders have been spotted on Tähe and Turu streets, Arukas streets in Pärnu and Soldina streets in Narva.

Police lieutenant colonel Sirle Loigo is glad that people are coming to the police’s aid for the eighth time and reporting the instigators. “It is worrisome that speeding in the vicinity of schools and kindergartens especially stands out from the descriptions of the reports. The policemen will certainly pay special attention to these places during traffic control to make sure that parents taking their children to school during the morning rush hours do not put other schoolchildren at risk,” said Loigo.

The traffic works will last from 15 to 21. until April. The police invite all interested parties to follow the website www.liiklustalgud.ee during the week of traffic inspections, where you can see the feedback, which places have been checked and whether and what kind of violations the police noticed.
