Toni Collette Leads Cast of Apple TV Dramedy Lenni in Sydney Production
Production is officially underway in Sydney, Australia, on Lenni, a new Apple TV dramedy starring Toni Collette as a child welfare worker juggling chaotic family dynamics, Variety reported. Collette leads the ensemble cast of the series alongside Ciarán Hinds, Dan Wyllie, Josh McKenzie, Celeste Barber, Genevieve Hegney, Arka Das, and Wayne Blair, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The series is based on the critically acclaimed Norwegian show Pernille, also locally known as Pørni, which was created by Henriette Steenstrup, Deadline noted. While Pernille ran for five seasons from 2021 to 2025 across Viaplay and Netflix, the new Apple adaptation re-centers the narrative under the direction of Bad Sisters director Dearbhla Walsh and adapter Sarah Scheller, known for The Letdown and Strife.

Deadline further characterizes the series as a darkly comedic mystery exploring what it means to have a family, to lose one, and to pull one apart. The season follows Lenni through a new case where the stakes reach their peak as her professional responsibilities and personal life collide.
Shooting takes place on location in Sydney, supported by the NSW Government through Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund, as reported by Variety. The physical production brings together major international backing through Made Up Stories and Keshet International.
