Director Makoto Shinkai’s latest work “The Sparrow’s Door Shut” will be broadcast uncut from 9pm tonight.
One day, Suzume Iwato, a 17-year-old high school girl living in a quiet town in Kyushu, meets Souta Munakata, a mysterious young man who calls himself a “closer,” and is the source of disaster. In order to close the “door”, he sets out on a journey around Japan. A modern adventure story depicting the liberation and growth of a young girl, Suzume. This is a blockbuster film that will overwhelm viewers with its magnificent and detailed images that are unique to director Makoto Shinkai and the beautiful music that touches the heart!
Nanoka Hara, who voiced the main character Suzume, and Hokuto Matsumura of SixTONES, who voiced the voice of the closing teacher Sota, gave comments for the Friday road show to celebrate the first terrestrial broadcast. Arrived!

◆Story
Suzume, a 17-year-old girl living in a quiet town in Kyushu, meets Sota, a young man on a journey who says, “I’m looking for a door.”
What I found in the ruins in the mountains following him was an old door standing alone.
As if being drawn to something, Suzume reaches for the door, but…
Because disaster comes from the other side of the door, Sota continues his journey as a “closer” who closes and locks doors.
Then, a mysterious cat, Daijin, suddenly appears in front of the two.
“I like sparrows” “You’re in the way”
The next moment Daijin starts speaking, Sota is transformed into a chair!
It was a small chair with one leg missing that Suzume had used when she was young.
Suzume hurriedly chases Sota, who runs in the form of a three-legged chair to catch Daijin as he runs away.
Before long, doors begin to open one after another across Japan.
Guided by a mysterious door and a small cat, the sparrow’s “door-locked journey” involves the Japanese archipelago, from Kyushu, Shikoku, Kansai, and Tokyo.
