Dangerzone is an innovative application that isolates potential threats in controlled environments to ensure users’ protection from infected documents, often used by cybercriminals to spread malware and viruses.
This ingenious approach analyzes suspicious files, enabling greater security and privacy for users in the face of the growing digital threat landscape.
Upon receiving a suspicious document, the app places it in a sandboxwhere it converts it to PDF (if necessary) and then transforms the PDF into raw pixel data, generating a list of RGB color values for each page.
Once the conversion is complete, Dangerzone transfers them to another sandbox section, where they are reconstructed into a new PDF. In practice, this process helps eliminate potential malicious code and hidden threats, ensuring that the final document is safe for viewing.
The tool supports multiple file formats such as PDF, Microsoft Office documents, di LibreOffice and some image formats. Its flexibility, therefore, allows users to protect against threats present in different types of files.
