According to the sales data released by the Passenger Vehicle Market Information Joint Conference, in January 2022, the nationwide wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in the narrow sense reached 2.172 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.8% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.2%. Among them, MPV wholesale sales were 82,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%.
In January, the MPV sales champion changed hands, Wuling Hongguang fell to the top spot, and Buick GL8 took the top spot with sales of 17,000 units, making it the only model with over 10,000 MPV sales this month. It was followed by the Trumpchi M6 with sales of 6,311 units, winning the runner-up. This month, Dongfeng Fengxing ranked third with sales of 5,824 units; followed by Toyota’s new model competition with 5,399 units, ranking fourth, and Honda Odyssey ranking fifth with 4,488 units. Unlike last year, Wuling only ranked in the top ten in January, Wuling Hongguang, Baojun 730 and Wuling Journey all dropped sharply. Capgemini sold 3,493 units in January, a year-on-year decrease of 65.5%, ranking sixth; Wuling Hongguang dropped from the previous sales champion to 13th, with sales of 2,139 units, a year-on-year decrease of 73.9%. The Baojun 730 sold 993 units, dropping the ranking to 23rd. Wuling Journey sold only more than 100 vehicles, ranking 33rd.
Among other models, Uno sold 3,051 units, ranking seventh; Honda Elysian sold 3,019 units, and sales gradually returned to normal, up 119.2% year-on-year, ranking eighth; Jianghuai Refine sold 2,785 units, ranking ninth; SAIC MAXUS G10 sold 2,573 units, ranking tenth; Custo sold 2,462 units, ranking eleventh. Luxury brand Mercedes-Benz’s V-Class and New Vito sales were 2,157 and 1,658 units respectively, ranking 12th and 17th.
In January, among the top ten models, self-owned models accounted for 6 seats and joint venture models accounted for 4 seats.
