For the second month in a row, the Renault Mégane E-Tech tops the list of electric vehicle sales in August in France! It rises in front of the Fiat 500 as well as the Dacia Spring.
The figures of August just fell. And they are good for the diamond builder !

Electric continues to grow this summer
The data comes from cabinet AAA Data. And the least we can say is that the electric continues slowly but surely its progress on the market.
With a total market share that now reaches 13%, electricity gains a few additional percentages each month. All this, in a very difficult context after 14 months of consecutive declines all sales combined. This month of August therefore ends on a 3.8% increase for the global automotive market.
However with 91,406 registrations of new cars, we are still far from the 129,257 registrations recorded in August 2019.
The Renault Mégane E-Tech tops sales
On the classification of the electric, it is still the Renault Mégane E-Tech who dominates ! This confirms the successful launch of this new model, which only arrived in French dealerships in May.
With 1,521 copies soldthe electrified Mégane therefore tops the list of registrations in France in August.
Despite recent problems particularly related to air conditioningwhich Renault should bring an update during the month of September, the diamond crossover should continue its good momentum.

The Fiat 500e and the Dacia Spring just behind
And, despite a late arrival on the market, the Megane E-Tech already occupies the 7th place sales of electric cars over the whole of 2022. It could even return without too much difficulty to the top 3 by the end of December.
Also on August, behind the raised French sedan is the Fiat 500e and finally the Dacia Spring. They elapsed respectively at 1,325 and 988 units.
Finally, just behind the Romanian electric is the small electric city car from Peugeot, the e-208 which comes in 4th position with 889 units sold.
We also note the drop in the Renault Zoe, which struggles to stay in the top 10. It comes 8th, with 438 registrations in August. Note, however, the new absence of the Tesla Model 3 in this top 10, which is suffering the repercussions of the sharp increase in its price.
