There’s no magic bullet to avoid waiting at baggage carousels after long hours on the plane, but there are some tricks that can help your bags appear on the conveyor belt faster.
Here are three tips, compiled by the Belgian media 7sur7, to try to shorten the waiting time at the airport:
1- “Fragile” Stickers
According to one of the open secrets revealed by the American magazine Travel + Leisure, pretending to travel with delicate objects, it is possible to obtain a “fragile” sticker when loading your suitcases for the hold, so that they are the last to be placed on the plane.
They are therefore more likely to be among the first to exit the hold.
2- At the last minute
In the same vein, the last luggage to be checked in is more likely to be the first to leave, although this technique is far from being infallible, specified the Belgian media.
In many cases, it is nevertheless possible, for those who only have hand luggage with them and wish to travel hands-free, to check in their small suitcase free of charge at the boarding gate, to ensure that it is loaded among the last.
3- Front row seats, on the plane… and on the carousel
Even though it is more expensive to travel first class, it obviously comes with several advantages, including being among the first to see your luggage appear on the carousel at the end.
