Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Ilya Samsonov’s $3.55 Million Arbitration Contract and Leafs’ Goaltending Lineup

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov was awarded a one-year, $3.55 million contract in arbitration on Sunday.

Samsonov had filed a request for $4.9 million, while the team offered $2.4 million.

The two parties were heard in arbitration on Friday before arbitrator Stephen Raymond.

Samsonov, 26, was 27-10-5 with a .919 save percentage and a 2.33 goals- once morest average in 42 games last year, his first in Toronto.

He also went 4-4 in nine playoff games with an .898 save percentage and a 3.13 goals- once morest average before the Maple Leafs were eliminated by the Florida Panthers in five games in the second round.

Samsonov has just completed a one-year contract worth $1.8 million signed with Toronto in July 2022.

The other two Leafs goaltenders for the next schedule are Matt Murray and Joseph Woll.

The Chicago Blackhawks became the first team this offseason to go through the arbitration process Thursday, going through a hearing with Philipp Kurashev.

Kurashev will receive a salary of $2.25 million over the next two campaigns.
