Many people believe that John Tortorella has lost his locker room and that it could cost him his job, but make no mistake, the controversial Flyers head coach is here to stay in Philadelphia.
Team coverage reporter Sam Carchidi confirmed on X Thursday reports from Darren Dreger that Tortorella will be back behind the bench next season. In fact, rumors rather suggested that he could have been transferred to another role within the team’s management, a sign that “Torts” is not about to leave the city of brotherly love.
The Flyers were third in the Metropolitan Division and seemed in good position to make the playoffs, but an eight-game losing streak caused them to fall in the standings.
Tortorella has made headlines in recent days, notably by leaving out his veteran and captain Sean Couturier or by forcing all his players to stay in the locker room to speak to the media after a defeat against the Canadiens.
