The 28th round of the Ekstraklasa was inaugurated on Friday. First, Warta Poznań hosted Koronê Kielce at their own stadium. The match did not provide much excitement and ultimately ended with the victory of the hosts after a goal by Adam Zrelak. The fans at the Florian Krygier Stadium were counting on more goals. At 20:30 Pogoń Szczecin faced Ruch Chorzów. The favorites of the clash were Jens Gustafsson’s players, irritated by the last defeat against Lech Poznań (0:1). However, no one expected such a declassification in their performance.

The match started with a strong accent from the hosts. From the very beginning, Pogoń tried to put pressure on their rivals, which brought results in the 2nd minute. Then one of Ruch’s players made a mistake, which the Szczecin team immediately took advantage of and launched a counterattack. Wahan Bichakhchyan put the ball on his feet, but did not take a shot. Instead, he passed the pass to Linus Wahlqvist on the right wing, who wanted to withdraw it.
He was very lucky because a goal was scored a moment later. Mateusz Bartolewski accidentally crossed the path of the ball and hit it into the net. Therefore, just a few dozen seconds after the first star, the Ruch goalkeeper had to take the ball out of the net.
A moment later, Pogoń almost increased the score to 2-0. Efthymios Kuluris made a great attempt, but he was slightly wrong. In the 9th minute, Ruch’s players had a great opportunity. Daniel Szczepan took a strong shot, but, similarly to Kuluris, the ball missed the post.
In the following minutes the game evened out a bit. There was no shortage of good actions from both sides. And already in the 35th minute, Ruch’s goalkeeper had to take the ball out of the net again. Adrian Przyborek placed it there in an impressive style. He made a perfect response to Kamil Grosicki’s cross from a corner kick and overshot his opponents.
Just a minute later it could have been 3-0. Kuluris scored, but it turned out he was offside. Thus, the first half ended with Pogoń leading 2-0.

The second game, just like the first one, started with a strong accent from the hosts. Already in the 47th minute, Kuluris achieved his goal after a good pass from Biczachczian. And this was only the beginning of this player’s show. Suffice it to say that he scored a hat-trick in 12 minutes!
In the 54th minute, he sent an atomic shot at the goal of the Chorzów team. Unfortunately for the opponents, the ball bounced off one of the players and changed its flight path. The goalkeeper was helpless.
Just like with Kuluris’ next hit. He made great use of Koutris’ cross and scored with a header. His movement was completely broken and he couldn’t get up from his knees. He allowed himself to be almost completely dominated by the hosts, who had no intention of stopping.
He had an opportunity to score a goal to make it 6-0, among others. Ulvestad, but the ball hit the crossbar. There was still plenty of emotion, but ultimately no more goals were scored. However, it seems that 5-0 is the smallest penalty for Ruch after this match.
Thanks to the victory, Pogoń moved up to fourth place in the table with 47 points. They are five points behind the leader Jagiellonia Białystok, but they have played more games. Ruch, in turn, remained in the relegation zone in 17th place. He has 20 points on his account.
