Vienna – How is the federal government dealing with the decision of the Constitutional Court (VfGH), which recently overturned the transition period for the abolition of fully slatted floors in pig fattening? ÖVP Agriculture Minister Norbert Totschnig had to clarify this question on Sunday “ZIB2” to guest. The VfGH had considered the transition period originally planned by the government until 2040 for the conversion of stables with fully slatted floors, which have been criticized by animal rights activists for years, to be too long.
