Tottenham is on a roll and is moving away from the Champions League! “Magpies” beat “Roosters” [WIDEO]

In the match that started Saturday’s competition in the 33rd round of the Premier League, Newcastle United defeated Tottenham 4-0. The hero of the competition was Alexander Isak, the author of two goals.

The match between the teams ranked eighth and fifth in the league table, respectively, was considered one of the most interesting clashes in the 33rd series of games of the current Premier League season.

Still having a good chance of participating in the next edition of the Champions League, the team led by Ange Postecoglou faced a difficult task to score points on an extremely difficult terrain such as St James’ Park.

Before the referee’s first whistle, a lot of attention was devoted to the Magpies’ striker. Alexander Isak returned to the game after a break due to health problems in the second half of February and since then he has scored five goals and provided an assist in six appearances.

The 24-year-old did not disappoint during the match against Tottenham. Thanks to his goal, the hosts took the lead after half an hour of play. The Swede laid down Micky van de Ven and then directed the ball to the near post.

The visitors did not have time to recover after the first goal, and the second blow was dealt by Anthony Gordon. Micky van de Ven was again involved in the whole action. The winger outwitted the visitors’ defense, transferred the ball to his right foot and confidently beat Guglielmo Vicario with a shot.

Eddie Howe’s team went into the second half of the competition with the intention of ending any hopes of Tottenham turning around this match as quickly as possible. They managed to do this already in the 51st minute, when Alexander Isak scored for the second time.

In the 87th minute of the competition, Fabian Schär scored the result. The Magpies’ defender brilliantly found himself in the opponent’s penalty area after receiving a cross from a corner kick by Anthony Gordon.

Newcastle United won against Tottenham 4-0, thanks to which they temporarily moved to sixth place in the Premier League table. In turn, the team led by Ange Postecoglou squandered the chance to overtake fourth-placed Aston Villa.
