The Alpecin-Deceuninck cycling team will not start the 4th stage of the Tour of Poland (WorldTour) on Tuesday. Five members of its technical staff have tested positive for Covid 19, the team announced on Twitter on Monday evening.
“In the interest of the health of our riders, team staff and other participating teams, we have decided – in agreement with the UCI and the local organizing committee – to leave the Tour of Poland this year.“, writes the team which specified that no player had tested positive.
Italian Stefano Oldani was the highest ranked rider from Alpecin-Deceuninck overall. He was in 18th place 20 seconds behind the leader the Colombian Sergio Higuita.
