Towns resolves in the 3rd quarter; Timberwolves beat Jazz 123-95

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Karl-Anthony Towns scored a season-high 25 points, 15 of which came during a dominant stretch in the third quarter, as the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away and routed the team 123-95 on Saturday. Utah Jazz.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 31 points, including 19 in the first half and 12 in the fourth quarter. Rudy Gobert added 11 points and led his team with 10 rebounds.

The Frenchman Gobert thus achieved his fourth double-double in the first five games of the campaign, in a duel against his previous team.

Lauri Markkanen led Utah with 22 points and eight rebounds. He made 4 of 11 3-pointers after setting a franchise record with 25 in Utah’s first six games.

Talen Horton-Tucker and John Collins each added 14 points for Utah, which opened a four-game road trip and has lost four of five games.
