Toyota’s first electric crossover wheels fly off on the move

The reason for the paired recall is a manufacturing error, due to which the wheels of crossovers can fall off. According to the Japanese regulator, sharp turns and hard braking can lead to this: because of them, the hub bolts can loosen, the wheels will start to wobble and eventually fly off the axle.

So far, there have been no reports of accidents related to the defect. However, the regulator does not recommend bZ4X and Solterra owners to use their crossovers until they are repaired.
