Gilles Verdez, emblematic columnist of the show and known for his outings that leave no one unmoved, underlined the closeness that Francky Vincent has with the highly controversial humorist Dieudonné. He even went so far as to accuse the singer of anti-Semite because he did not want to condemn the numerous media outings of the comedian. A “clash” followed in front of the whole set that evening.

Death threats for the columnist

In the aftermath of this dispute between the two men, Gilles Verdez says he always assumes his words without regrets and believes that he is the center of a violent campaign against him. Indeed, a screenshot that has been taken out of context is circulating on Twitter shows the journalist performing a “dumpling”, this anti-Semitic greeting that Dieudonné used to make. This screenshot simply refers to a sequence that comes straight from chronic fire “What does your brother think about it?”where we see Gilles Verdez explaining “We give them that, they take that from us”. A justification which proves that this gesture is a thousand leagues from the famous gesture of Dieudonné.

The case does not stop there, since Fatou’s companion explains that he has received death threats since: “I had things like: ‘We will profane your corpse’, ‘I hope that your loved ones will suffer the consequences of what you say’, ‘We will find you’, ‘Don’t come to the Antilles, otherwise you’re dead’. I give you a few that are obnoxious, but still acceptable. It was extremely violent. It raises questions about the state of our country. It is true that it bothered me a lot. I had a lot of support, but also people who make concessions to anti-Semitism and that is not acceptable! It must be remembered: we cannot accept that”he confides.

The TPMP plateau is definitely not a long calm river…
