2023-08-18 19:42:00

The central beach of Banyuls-sur-Mer came alive with more than 350 guests for a memorable sardinade, organized by the association Les Als contrebandistes de Banyuls de la Marenda. This association, which pays homage to the distant ancestors of Banyulenc smugglers, is more commonly known as the Trabucayres. It invests throughout the year in the preservation of Catalan traditions through numerous festivities, both in the department and in neighboring regions. In order to gather the necessary funds to support their multiple activities, the organization of a sardinade proved essential. Indeed, this traditional meal goes far beyond the simple culinary dimension, representing an emblematic ritual of Mediterranean joy. The ephemeral chefs in charge of the kitchen have demonstrated their skill by grilling these characteristic fish from the Mediterranean basin to perfection. Subsequently, the guests of an exceptional evening shared these delicious sardines, accompanied by the irreplaceable aioli, all in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
