A Venezuelan migrant, named Carlos, and another Haitian died in the Rio Grande while trying to cross into the United States, from Tamaulipas in Mexico, after becoming trapped in the mud and garbage.

Both were trapped in the mud in the area known by Immigration personnel as La Poza, where there is a whirlpool when they were trying to reach Brownsville, Texas, along the Matamoros border.

Carlos, the Venezuelan migrant, was the father of two minors who were also there, as well as his wife, according to information from the media Milenio.

A Venezuelan migrant named Jonas told UnoTV how his traveling companions died while trying to reach the United States.
