After investigation, the police suspected that someone was trapped by gambling debts, resulting in high debts. Then he decided to take his son to the rooftop of Kowloon City Plaza, throw him down first, and then jump off the building to commit suicide.

It is reported that CCTV footage of the on-site parking lot on the rooftop on the 6th floor captured the male deceased playing “horseback riding” with his son before the incident. Throw it to the ground, and then jump down.

The deceased was a taxi driver. He was separated from his wife before his death. The two lived in units on Nga Tsin Long Road and Hou Wong Road in Kowloon City respectively. The 7-year-old son involved lived with his father and was in the second grade of primary school.

The police later investigated the deceased’s estranged wife and learned that the deceased had a gambling habit and owed debts, but the amount was unknown:

“We used to live together, but because of gambling, I became angry and moved away.”

The boy’s mother said that she often met her son, but she didn’t know whether the deceased had any debts or that he drove a taxi before his death. She was surprised. Feeling guilty for not asking about the deceased’s current situation:

“We are not good at it. I don’t even ask them anything. The most I ask is the children.”

Police investigation revealed that the deceased had disclosed suicidal thoughts to his friends before his death, but no suicide note was found.

The boy currently has damage to his spleen and trachea, and is still in a coma despite having a high fever. The boy’s mother:

“My coma is tight and I can’t wake up. Let’s take a look at my condition. It will still be the same in two or three days. If it doesn’t work, I will transfer to the children’s hospital.”

If you find that a relative or friend around you has emotional problems, you might as well try to express your concern. If they don’t want to talk about it, don’t force it. You can try to accompany them silently to let them know that they are not alone.
