A tragic situation occurred in the town of San Carlos, Mendoza province, this Tuesday. a two year old lost his life following being hit by a delivery truck.
The sad event occurred around 2:30 p.m. in a business located on Coronel Videla Street and National Route 40, in the aforementioned town. There, a Ford F350 brand truck was driving in reverse and ran over a boy, identified as Juan Damián Quiroz, taking his life.
According to information released by police and judicial sources, the food delivery truck, driven by a 36-year-old man, was parked loading food products. After this, the man returned to the vehicle and reversed, running over the minor.
The driver was never aware of what had happened. In fact, he continued walking without realizing that he had run over the child. Neighbors notified him of what had happened, the subject stopped the march and immediate notice was given to health personnel, who upon arrival at the scene verified the death.
The man was taken to the 18th Police Station Saint Charles and gave a negative result to the alcohol dosage. The Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out the investigation under the heading of “culpable homicide”.
The child’s family explained that the child was in the house and that in an “oversight” he left the home.
