Tragedy in Turkish Mardin.. brakes failed, killing 16 when run over

At least 16 people were killed, and 29 others were injured, in a run-over accident in a city in southeastern Turkey, the Turkish Health Minister announced on Saturday.

Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter that 16 people were killed and 29 others were injured, including 8 in critical condition, in an accident that occurred following the brakes of a truck that ran over a crowd in Derik, Mardin Governorate, failed.

The accident comes hours following a horrific accident in the city of Ghazi on Saturday, following a truck sliding killed 16 people and injured 45 people, including rescuers and journalists, while they were involved in a traffic accident on a highway.
