Sunday around 4:30 p.m., a violent and dramatic collision between a car and a motorcycle left one dead and one injured at the bottom of the road from Fosses to Falisolle. The accident occurred in front of the restaurant Le Calypso. A Volkswagen Caddy was leaving its parking lot, turning around on the roadway when a powerful Suzuki 600cc motorcycle heading towards Arsimont burst in.

The motorbike hit the car very hard on its side. Firefighters from the Val de Sambre area led by Lieutenant Vincent Fivet went to the scene with a beaconing vehicle, two ambulances and the SMUR of Notre-Dame de Charleroi.

Unfortunately, the biker, a 38-year-old resident of the town, was killed instantly. The driver of the car, injured, was taken to the Auvelais site of the CHRSM. Two police teams from the Samsom area took charge of the painful findings. This stretch of road has been closed in both directions for investigative duties. The Namur public prosecutor’s office sent its expert, Pierre Kauffman, to the scene of the tragedy in order to shed light on the causes of the collision while the Fontaine de Gilly funeral directors removed the body of the deceased.

Around 8:30 p.m., the convenience store Cassart was called upon to remove the vehicles involved.
