A dramatic accident occurred in a climbing gym in Amsterdam this Friday evening. An 11-year-old boy has tragically lost his life following falling ten meters from a height. According to information from HLN, the child died in hospital from his injuries.
The tragedy took place at the Klimmuur Amsterdam Centraal, a 16-meter-high climbing wall located near the Dutch capital’s central station.
“A climber always climbs safely. There may have been a problem with the adult who had to secure the boy,” the director of the Dutch Climbing Association told the AD.
Referring to a “serious accident”, the police informed the labor inspectorate, who carried out a brief investigation and concluded that the tragic incident had no connection with the employees of the climbing wall company.
