24-year-old firefighter dies fighting vehicle fire
During the night from Sunday to Monday, a young firefighter died in the Paris region. No link has yet been established with the riots shaking the country.

A 24-year-old firefighter died in Saint-Denis (Paris region) while fighting a vehicle fire, Gérald Darmanin announced on Monday. “A young master corporal of the Paris fire brigade died despite the very rapid treatment of his teammates”, tweeted the French Minister of the Interior, specifying that the facts had taken place in ” underground car park”.
“An investigation is underway” to determine the circumstances of the fire of the vehicles, it was added to the Ministry of the Interior. However, no formal link has yet been established between the fire on which this firefighter intervened and the urban violence which has shaken many cities in France since the death last Tuesday in Nanterre of Nahel, 17, killed by a police officer.
On the night of Sunday to Monday, some 157 people were arrested during the sixth evening of violence. The Ministry of the Interior also reports three injuries among the police and has recorded 352 fires on the public highway and 297 vehicle fires. A police station and a gendarmerie barracks were targeted.
