Chennai: A basketball star student collapsed and died while waiting for a train at Madurai railway station. R. lives in Villivakkam, Chennai. Aphnida (15) died. The incident took place when he and other team members reached the railway station to return to Chennai following participating in a basketball match in Virudhunagar.
Abhinandana was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.
Abhinandana had fever while leaving Chennai for Madurai for the competition. He participated in the competition following taking medicine. He was tired even when he reached the railway station to go back later. It is also said that he vomited blood during this. Police have started an investigation.
