This is an announcement that Liège students would like never to have to make. During the night from Thursday to Friday, a young student from Hannut died. According to several sources that we have carefully cross-checked, it is a question of excessive alcohol consumption.

This circle, which brings together students from the same region, announces that it is putting an end to its activities for this year.”in order to to honor his memory and respect everyone’s mourning“.
What we know
The young student who died was part of this circle. According to several sources interviewed, his death occurred after a private evening, on the sidelines of officially organized activities.
After spending the evening together, his comrades found him unconscious the next morning. Several elements which have reached us seem to confirm that excessive consumption of alcohol was indeed the cause of the death.
Psychological help put in place
For its part, the Liégeoise Association of Liégeois Students (AGEL) also communicated. “L‘AGEL, representing the baptism committees of the Liège region, does not supervise this event nor the regional“, she recalls.
The student association nevertheless indicates that it is “in contact with the various Regional committees to discuss prevention and the measures to be put in place in order to avoid the occurrence of such incidents as much as possible“.
In collaboration with the Red Cross, psychological assistance has been put in place. Anyone who feels the need is free to call on it.
