MBC news anchor, Kim Tae Min, was found dead in his bed on October 30, 2023. Kim Tae Min died in his sleep a day later after he reported a year after the Itaewon tragedy.
Last year, 159 people died and 196 others were injured in a Halloween night tragedy in Itaewon. On October 29 2023, Kim Tae Min broadcast live to commemorate the tragedy on the MBC news program Live This Morning.
Then on November 1 2023, his colleagues at the event reported that Kim Tae Min had died. In this TV program, photos and memories of Kim Tae Min throughout his career as an MBC news anchor for 15 years were shown.
“Reporter Kim Tae Min has left this world,” said his two colleagues Kim Jung Hyun and Lee Young Eun in a live broadcast.
“This is news that makes us all sad,” they continued.

Kim Tae Min was born in 1978 and died in his sleep at the age of 45. The family stated that Kim Tae Min had never experienced serious illness in his entire life.
As a result, Kim Tae Min’s body had to be autopsied to find out the cause of the reporter’s death. After the autopsy process was completed, it was determined that Kim Tae Min died from a brain hemorrhage.
