Palakkad: Two children drowned while taking a bath in a pond in Pattambi Vallur. The deceased have been identified as Ashwin (12), son of Sudheesh in Pattambi Kodalur Mankot, and Abhijit (13), son of Sunil Kumar in Kuttipuram Perashannur Pannikot. Both are children of a family living in the quarters of Vallur. The accident happened in Vallur upper pool in the afternoon.
It was a pond where locals used to fish regularly. It is reported that both of them came here to fish and bathe with their friends. While taking a bath, both of them were covering each other. Friends tried to save them, but they could not be pulled out. By the time the locals rushed to hear the commotion of those who were with them, they were brought out and taken to a private hospital. Ashwin Pattambi is a 7th standard student of St. Paul’s High School. Abhijit Pattambi Govt. He is an eighth grade student in high school.
