A man working for an Infrabel subcontractor lost his life at Quévy station, the rail network manager said on Monday followingnoon. The accident happened in the early followingnoon while pruning work was being carried out.
According to Infrabel, the victim, whose age has not been communicated, was working at the pruning level of a tree that had fallen on the catenary, a few kilometers from the French border. The worker touched the catenary and was fatally electrocuted. An investigation is underway to, in particular, determine the precise circumstances of the accident which cost the life of the worker.
