In Bali, Indonesia, five people have died after a glass elevator plunged more than 90 meters. The fatal accident occurred at the Ayuterra Resort, a well-known place on this paradise island, and now the authorities are trying to determine how it could have happened.

That medium pointed out that the fatalities are three women and two men, local workers and that the event occurred this Friday (September 1). Ketut Suwiartham, chef at the resort, claimed to have heard screams and alerted authorities to the emergency, of which no survivors were reported.
Who are the victims?
Two of those who were in that elevator were declared dead on the spot, while the rest (due to the severity of their injuries) later died, despite being rushed to the medical center.
The Sun identified the victims as Sang Putu Bayu Adi Krisna, Kadek Yanti Pradewi (both 19 years old), I Wayan Aries Setiawan (older by four years), Kadek Hardiyanti and Ni Luh Supernigsih (aged 24 and 20 respectively).
Regarding what could have caused the disaster, Made Uder, from the Police, pointed out that “the steel rope (…) was not strong enough to pull the weight up, which was quite a lot, and the safety wedge or the brake did not work ”, picked up The Sun. “The elevator slid down at high speed so this accident could not be avoided.”
Girl died trapped in elevator
In July, the death of a six-year-old girl shocked an entire country because of the way it happened. The minor had been admitted to the Mexican Institute of Social Security due to dengue, but the stretcher on which she was transferred was trapped in an elevator that was activated when she had not fully entered.

It was recorded on video when several witnesses tried to rescue the minor, but their efforts were in vain and the anguish increased as the minutes passed. International media pointed out that when the firefighters came, it was necessary to use a hydraulic tool.
Despite the fact that the little girl managed to be taken out of the elevator, the time and pressure exerted on her body led to her death. The events took place in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo state, whose Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation (two months ago the capture of a man was reported).

That medium specified that, for the moment, it is unknown if the death responded to a flood in that device or to an electric shock. Despite the fact that an attempt was made to rescue the young man, it was not possible and the emergency personnel confirmed the death.
