It is 7:01 p.m. when the police of the Aiseau-Presles/Châtelet/Farciennes area are called to go to the Ruelle du Curé in Châtelet for a family dispute. A man is injured after being hit with a fork, according to initial information. The police are on the scene six minutes later. A young man, lying in the fetal position at the entrance of the house, seems in a state of shock, but he is not injured. This is Miguel Stennier.
In the house, his father, Christophe, 46, is unconscious. He lost a lot of blood. The police tried to resuscitate, without success. His death was made official at 7:38 p.m. by an emergency doctor.
An investigation is opened at the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office. On August 10, Miguel Stennier was placed under an arrest warrant and charged with parricide. Interviewed twice, he varies in his statements, but these do not correspond to the operation of the CCTV cameras located opposite a garage in the lane of the priest, to the left of the Stennier family home.
“It was an accident!” says a witness
The body of Christophe Stennier is the subject of an autopsy carried out by forensic doctors. The latter find that the statements of the accused and his mother do not correspond to the forensic findings. The thesis of a fall and an impalement in the blade of the knife is ruled out.
The trial is scheduled for a week.
Christophe was married and had two children, a son and a daughter. “For four years, he was a grandfather, on his son’s side,” a family member told us. “He was a security guard at the European Commission. He was a very nice, helpful, very calm man, with a lot of values.” Christophe was also well known in the world of taekwondo. For a long time, until a little over a year ago, he was the coach of the Roux club, in the Charleroi entity. He was master 1st dan and the organizer of the Master Cup of Charleroi, a competition overseen by the French-speaking Taekwondo Federation
