Sharjah: An Emirati citizen and her 12-year-old daughter died in a house fire in Al Suyuh area of the city. Authorities said the father died of suffocation and the daughter suffered severe burns.
The Sharjah Civil Defense Authority informed that the house was on fire at 4.27 am on Tuesday. Local media reported that firefighters who rushed to the scene found the girl in the yard while putting out the fire and pulled her father out of a room.

The National Ambulance team made all efforts to save the girl’s life, but she succumbed to her injuries. The unconscious father was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
This was a tragedy that shocked the nearby residents. The Sharjah Civil Defense Authority has urged residents to strictly follow fire safety measures and to exercise caution by all residents. Accidents like these reinforce the importance of installing smoke detectors and unplugging all appliances and electronics before going to bed.
