Alappuzha: A woman died following slipping on the tracks while trying to board a train. Rajesh’s wife Meenakshi (45) died in Pullasseri Cherungot, Palakkad, Mannarkkad. The incident took place at Alappuzha railway station at 7.25 pm on Thursday. The woman alighted at the Alappuzha railway station on the Ernakulam-Kayamkulam passenger train and left the train while trying to run into the Kochuveli Express which arrived at the station.
Railway officials said that while trying to board the Ernakulam-Kayamkulam passenger, he slipped and fell on the track. RPF intervened and rushed the young woman to the Medical College Hospital with injuries on her head and left leg, but she died at 9 pm. The left foot of the young woman is in a flat position. The preliminary conclusion is that the cause of death is head injury
