“Monday followingnoon, around 4:20 p.m., the police received a report from a man who said he had been contacted by his former employer,” said Julie Plevoets, spokesperson for the Louvain prosecutor’s office. “The latter allegedly claimed to have done something to his wife and children.”
On the spot, the police found the death of the 37-year-old wife and the 5-year-old child of the suspect. As for the family’s 7-month-old baby, he was taken to hospital for medical treatment and is out of danger.
An internal autopsy of the bodies of the two deceased victims will take place on July 18 to determine the exact cause and time of death. The investigation will be continued by the criminal investigation department of PZ Leuven under the direction of the investigating judge.
