A woman lost her life on Saturday in Willebroek following her car plunged into the canal for an as yet undetermined reason. The information was confirmed by the local police area. It does not appear that another vehicle was involved in the accident, an investigation should try to determine the circumstances.
The facts occurred on the western embankment of the canal linking Brussels to the Scheldt. The driver would have suddenly left her traffic lane, before her vehicle plunged into the canal. Rescuers tried once more, unsuccessfully, to revive the victim.
