A tragedy occurred this Saturday morning around 7 a.m. at the four cobblestones of Quaregnon. An accident involving a motorcycle has indeed taken place there. The balance sheet is quite catastrophic since two people died on the spot. Firefighters from the Hainaut-Centre area as well as the police are still mobilized on site. The sector is obviously to be avoided.
It is therefore one more tragedy that occurred on our roads this Saturday morning. “We intervened mainly for beaconing and ambulance support at the four cobblestones of Quaregnon. A fatal accident involving a motorcyclist in particular occurred there”, confirms the Hainaut-Centre rescue zone.
The mayor of Quaregnon who is obviously in shock following this tragedy. “The accident happened around 7am. A motorcycle coming from Jemappes then hit a car. The balance sheet is dramatic since it reports two deaths. My thoughts obviously go out to the families of the victims. This is obviously news that I am not happy to hear on a Saturday morning”, says Damien Jenart, mayor of Quaregnon.
Diversions are put in place at the scene of the tragedy to redirect motorists. The prosecution is expected on the scene.
